Service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Whether participating in events, fundraising for charitable causes, or volunteering for public or community organisations, freemasons are committed to making a positive impact. Their efforts support a wide range of initiatives, from local community projects to global humanitarian efforts.

Freemasonry stands as the UK’s largest secular fraternal and charitable organization, with over 300,000 members working in nearly 8,000 lodges across England and Wales. In recent years, London masonry has made substantial donations to various causes, including:

  • £3 million towards the London Air Ambulance renewal of two helicopters
  • £3 million to the London Fire Brigade to fund two high-rise ladders following the Grenfell disaster
  • Funding a Cyber Knife unit for Barts Hospital

Old Owen’s Lodge has contributed to each of these charitable efforts, underscoring its commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
